We’ve all been there before. The drawings have all been released for construction. Materials were placed on order weeks ago. Many components have already been received. And then there is the big change! Maybe it is a revised piping spec that means changes in material grades affecting hundreds of components, or maybe it just the latest change in process conditions that requires revising a few line sizes. But either way, you have to account for the changes, cancel the materials that are no longer needed and get the right things on order in a hurry. Pull out a fresh box of highlighters, it’s going to be a long night.…..unless you have EDGE BOM or have IMAGE doing your engineering and design project!
Plant EDGE now comes with a seat of EDGE BOM. At IMAGE we use EDGE BOM to help our customers manage changes efficiently and now you can those same great tools to help your clients as well.
You are probably aware of the fact that IMAGE has long been offering as-built modeling as a service. In our never-ending quest for increasing our efficiency and bring our customers exceptional value, we have added a new tool to our toolbox – a handheld scanner employing an Android tablet.
What does this mean to you? This means that scanning congested spaces such as modular equipment skids is much cheaper than with our standard technology because it can now be completed with a single crew member charging out at standard design rates. The developed point clouds can either be over-layed against the base equipment model to compare and contrast to the actual as-built configuration, or used as the basis to develop an actual CAD model from scratch. Also, this technology can be used as a complimentary addition to our traditional method of scanning for large areas - the handheld being used for the crowded areas and the other for long and spread-out areas. Back in the office the data from both can be merged back into a single file.
IMAGE is offering special introductory pricing for any work involving As-built modeling for a limited time. If you would like more information or would like to see a demonstration of this software, please call us at 281-731-8548.
